PechaKucha Night 6.0

Let's begin to rethink our relationship with government. Let's make it one of idea-generation, collaboration, learning and idea-sharing rather than sharing complaints over the kitchen table or a drink at the bar.

PechaKucha Nights (PKN) are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts - just about anything really. The idea behind PKN is to have many people sharing their ideas within the course of one night. Therefore the 20x20 PKN format was created: 20 images. Each shown for 20 seconds. 6 minutes 40 seconds per presenter. 14 presenters. 1 fun night.

PKN started in Tokyo in 2003 by two architects who combined PowerPoint with the notion of a visual poetry slam.  PKN now happens in 266 cities around the globe. This will be the sixth PKN in Halifax!

In the past we've seen PechaKucha presentations on lost mittens, starting a business, comparing Halifax to Norway, fashion, the smurfs, sculpture art, desire & pets, social media & youth, commentary on the state of the music industry, and a million other ideas to save the world or just have fun.

This time we are doing things a little differently - each presenter will share a positive, generative idea for government. Some presenters will be government employees, others will not. Expect to uncover the unexpected: unexpected talent, unexpected ideas. You may be pleasantly surprised by ideas existing in government already - and by ideas from people in our own backyard.

Presenter list COMING SOON!
